oh my, this is scary. I am guessing the gas is caused by volcanic fissure or something

Hi Becky, yes, it is a scary sight. As you suspect, the CO2 gas comes from all the quake fissures and the volcano below. Signs tell people not to let small animals or kids roam around because the heavy gas is worse near the ground.
